People: Qwo-Li Driskill is a Cherokee Two-Spirit and Queer poet, activist, and educator also of African, Irish, Lenape, Lumbee, and Osage ascent. Qwo-Li's first book of poems, Walking with Ghosts, was recently published by Salt Press. Hir writing has also appeared in Many Mountains Moving, Mavin Magazine, The Raven Chronicles and the anthologies Nurturing Native Languages, Revolutionary Voices: A Multicultural Queer Youth Anthology and Speak to Me Words: Essays on Contemporary American Indian Poetry. basiL is writing and producing the movie Writing Home, "a thoughtful and charming multi-cultural tale of identity, struggle and community. Sparked by the forthcoming visit of a long-time pen pal and crush, Emile, a first-generation Arab-American, Queer man must come to grips with the separation he feels between his sexuality and the immigrant community he was raised within."
